Heres why I like the first one better then the second:
The AI were much more of a challenge
It was also scarier

i played only the demo so i dont have the most accurate say in this, but i found fear 2 to be a little cheesier with all the like ghosts and stuff, and its focusing TOO much on trying to be scary that its just dumb, the first on elooks much better
