I think it will probably get hacked, so the DRM will be a failure and the sales will be low, so ubisoft will "maybe" reconsider and don't such stupid method for other their games.

Splinter Cell: Conviction will have the same DRM.
Seems like Ubisoft is going to put it on all their new titles.

I think they still use it anyway. Either that or maybe they will give up on making PC games

There are some people that think Ubisoft is doing this on purpose to give themselves a reason to exit the PC gaming market. A bit of self-sabotage.

Why would they make up a reason? They don't need a reason to stop. They can just stop. But there is still a huge market in PC Gaming. They're doing this because they know piracy is rampant on games like Assassin's Creed. And a majority of PC gamers, if not all, have internet. Internet has become a necessity in our time.

Heh, I just stated that the theory has been passed around by various paranoid people.

As for the internet requirement, I have my thoughts on the matter but I don't really feel like getting into some grand debate so I'll just keep to myself aside from my initial comment earlier in the thread.

They could have added a MP part to the game, the MP part makes even the pirates buy the game.
