Would you rather they didn't release the game on PC at all?

I disagree. The PC market is huge. Publishers just need to use their brains.

The reason for piracy is most likely:

- Game is released on a console before it is released on the PC, and since a lot of PC owners also own a console, and as they don't want to wait, they buy the console version, even though they might have preferred the PC version over the console version. Now that they already own the game, and don't want to buy it once more, they just go ahead and download it.

- Game is released on different dates in different countries. People don't want to wait the extra 5 days or whatever to play the game, so they download it.

- People aren't wealthy enough to spend a lot of money on games, so they just go ahead and download whatever game they want.

- DRM scares potential costumers away, since pirates will find a way to go around it anyway. The honest costumer is then left with all the inconveniences that come with the DRM. DRM doesn't prevent privacy, but provokes it, which publishers don't seem to understand.

There is a simple solution to all of these problems, but publishers don't seem to get that.

Edit: http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_pe...cgi?ew15dl94&1 - Haha. Who didn't see this coming?

Whoever cracks this gotta make both a crack and some kind of custom save-system, all saved game are saved on ubisoft servers. This could take a while...

If UbiSoft can't keep their servers up and running properly, then they shouldn't put the new DRM in Assassin Creed 2 because people can't play the game when the servers are down.

I'll probably just stick to the PS3 version. I have the first one on it already, so I might as well.

Well this DRM hasn't gotten cracked yet, so it must have done what it was supposed to do. Ubisoft must be partly happy for now, the other sad part is that they lost some of the potentional buyers because the buyers don't like this type of DRM
