So I should NOT have any problems at all running this.
The only thing I can think of that can cause trouble is the x64 Windows.
And no, I do not have any viruses.

Check my post above and run a log.

Background process that interfere with games and/or spyware/rogue programs that interefere with DirectX and Nvidia.

There are many Window processes that should be disabled or run manually (though services) to get the absolute best performance for your rig. HiJackThis points out the bottlenecks.

Currently, I am responding via autopost when I get sometime at home I will go through your log and point out the problems.

First off - When you have time check out this sites info on how to optimize Window 7.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ndows-7-a.html

It's free and for the most part you can do all things manually.

Personally, I always optimize all rigs for top GAME and MULTIMEDIA (movies, music, images...etc) performance.

Depending on your experience level with your PC you should do the same.

Second - Make sure that the firewall you are using is allowing the current game you are playing that requires internet access to have it. Area 51: Free Edition requires internet connection for both SP and MP.

Here - Make sure that the blue programs are not running when you are running your games. Though you have a beefy rig this may interfere with the game. STEAM is fine for the most part but the new UI is still doing weird stuff to different kind of configs.

I would set Java to manual instead of auto in services.

Eset is not a virus protection I would use since it has a lot of issues with games and Photoshop software and it is draws a lot more of you CPU attention during random time intervals.

I would switch to something a little more gamer friendly and more intuitive like Avast, AVG or Asquared. They are also free and legal.

Try blue changes and firewall settings and then re-run Area 51. I just reinstalled it and played a few rounds with my wives and it was a sweet run with no hiccups.

Good luck.

Ok.
It was Steam that caused the textures to fail.
The FPS drop remains but it's cool.

And thanks Megazell for helping me turn off some things i hate.

NP.

When it comes to 3D FPS games - I need 60 to 88 FPS in order to not suffer from seasickness. So I make Windows is only running the BARE minimum so that the game run like water.

Part of the reason why I love Linux gaming is that it renders off of the card instead of the HD which prevents a lot of the issue that ppl suffer from rig to rig when it comes to Windows...though Windows has gotten better over the years.

How many FPS are you getting with Area 51? You should be getting 66 and up with your setup @ max resolution and settings. If you are not getting that then you have other stuff to tweak get it just right.

60 FPS is max due to my screens refresh rate.
But it's mostly like 40 or 30 FPS unless I look into a wall, then it goes up to 60 FPS. (Note that this is at 1024x768 pixels as the game won't cover the screen otherwise)

Well, you had some 'missing files' sections in your log which are not normal. I suggest hitting Google line by line and looking for some resolution on that because chances are that is what is affecting your rig.

I would give you further help but XP is as far as I go with Windows. From then on out I am 100% Linux. I actually have 2 copies (gifted) of Windows 7 but I have no intention of using them soon.
