Default Call of Duty: Black Ops... PATCHing

Many of you may have heard bad things about CoD:BO and I have to agree on most of them. They pushed the release date out to be "as soon as possible" and it seems they had a 3/4 finished product on their hands. Now it seems, their game is finally gaining life.

At first I was not impressed about the game. My first impression was that I had just blown $60 on the release date. Let alone the fact that my closest gaming friends had bought the game along with me, and they couldn't play it.heir frame rate was terrible (25-35fps) and it even crashed anothers PC multiple times.

After multiple negative reports and a LOT of consumer complaints Treyarch has released several patches. In the past few weeks and many new patches being implemented they are finally close to their mark. There has been a noticeable difference in gameplay smoothness on my PC and Reports from my friends say that the game is now playable (still not great however). The FPS is still not up to par and the overall smoothness is still a bit bothersome.

There are some patches coming out soon for some of the weapons also. These include some knife and sniper rifle tweaks. Not a lot of details have come out yet, as far as these are concerned.

Final word,
This game is good, however it is still a "Work in progress". The gaming community is still sending feedback to Treyarch and they seem to be listening. With the oncoming patches and the attentive developers this could be the game that we are all hoping for. So if you don't mind feeling like a "Beta tester" and are looking for a fun new game this may be it. If you are considering it but are unsure, then save your money and wait. The hyped game that we all heard about may be around the corner. Just a few more patches, and a little more time and we could very well have...

""The biggest first-person action series of all time and the follow-up to last year’s blockbuster Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 2 returns with Call of Duty®: Black Ops.""

I have to agree that Activision (I blame them) has pushed the released date too early.
TreyArch still has quite some work, most of them connectivity-related.

I'm playing CoD:BO on PS3 which is quite alright apart from connectivity issues.

For any of you that have previously read my post or this article, this is a summary. This organized group of individuals has given Activision a one month window to reply to the accusations that they are releasing bad product. If these terms are not met than Activision will be taken to court over the matter.

They more-or-less repeat what I had said in my post, minus that I was a little kinder on the subject.

Any of you that play/have played this game know better than this. How sad that this has become acceptable for a professional company.

Negative gamers? we're not being to unreasonable. We pay for a game, therefore we expect to be able to PLAY the game.

EX:Two friends and myself bought the game at pre release. I could play it with studdering and poor performance even though my PC specs are well above recommended. My friends couldn't play it at all. Now with current patches ONE of my friends can play it. The other is still in the dark as to why he cant.

Yeah it's quite awful. I'm selling my PS3 version now.
P.S.: I'm quiting VGR ... it sucks now that there aren't any active people.

So in my ignorant mind I somehow thought that Treyarch might be a good company to have the game placed into their hands. I was wrong by the looks of it. Treyarch is already talking about a sequel. They have not finished this product yet and they now have their minds elsewhere. This s*** storm of media publicity and name calling has come to this. Is the COD:BO project finished? have they abandoned this game? Now this is in the hands of the courts. The groups in the UK had the right idea.

I would say that Im excited about a new futuristic version of COD. However, Im sorry, I will not buy it new. From here on out, I wait until the price drops dramatically before I even consider a game by Treyarch, IWNet, or especially Activision.

With other words...
No more COD for you.
The price never drops on Call of duty games. Except for WaW.

OT: I bought WaW a week ago.
Turns out my CD-key was in use.
I've email'd Activision asking if they can do something.
Haven't gotten an answer in a week.

And if Activision does the whole "The key is lost, buy a new game..." to me I'll never BUY a game from them again...

wow, did you but it from a retail store or online? Steam or ebay? There are a few risky places that I've never been to comfortable buying from. As far as products that activate on steam or online in general, Ive always been antsy about buying from other retailers.

Hopefully you can get that straightened out. No matter how much you actually spent it still is bad to be in that spot.
Good Luck.
