Default Buy the new Iphone 3 GS?

Should I buy the Iphone 3 GS or is there a cheaper and just as good phone? If not I'll buy a good phone later and settle for a cheap one.

it depends on what you are looking for. I personally could not get used to the on screen qwerty keyboard. I like having the buttons so I can easily know what I am going to press even if I take my eyes off the phone for a second.

Also, there are plenty of phones out there that have just as much capability as the iPhone does now. The question is if you prefer how Apple handles the applications on the phone better than other phone companies.

Ok, well, I think the Apps and the Iphone seem to run quite fast(my only experience with this is an Itouch which I like). I'm accustomed to the screen and thin body. Could you also give me some examples of phones? I'm really new to phones, that you could call me noob in this area.
Thanks for the info Jay

any android or blackberry device would do. All these phones have pretty much the same functionality nowadays.

only a few blackberrys have a touch screen, not sure if that is a big deal for you.

Nokia N97 Mini is what I'm really looking forward too.

Small, has a slide out keyboard, 8GB built in memory thats expandable. Did I mention sexy? Oh yes, and sexy. Forgot to mention touchscreen too.

Damn, I'll have a look at how much it costs, it's even sexier than an Iphone.

I'm a Blackberry fan, mostly for Blackberry Messenger. I'd love an iPhone for the apps/games, but until they get a stable app for communicating with Blackberry, free of charge, I'm not moving.

Games on the iPhone are better than any other phone but AT&T is a horrible service and/or maybe it's just the iPhone's fault reception is horrible.

I started looking into the iPhone in the past day or two, and I'd like one for just data usage - games & apps. However, being in Canada, - Rogers is the only carrier, whom I'm with anyway.

July 08 - iPhone 3g
July 09 - iPhone 3gs (32GB Max in Canada)

So... do I go ahead now, or do I wait until July? Hmm.. Could we get the 64GB in the summer?
