Unhappy The memory could not be read/written errors...

Hi...

I get these annoying errors more and more often...

When i try to start audacity and NFS High stakes i get a 0x00000004 error... (Read)
When im about to start a race in GRID i get a 0x00040f13 error... (written)
And i get them on other programs to but i'm to lazy to write them all...

I suspected this had to do with my RAM so i have ran a memory test long ago and i think it found an error... (Don't remember...)

But wouldn't it be better to do a memory test on startup???
I think i've heard of a program that did just that but i cant remember it's name...
And how am I supposed to boot it???
Is it possible to boot it with an USB flash drive or do i have to waste a cd???

Help would be appreciated...

PS. sorry for my english and all the dots...
I just can't help it...

Run memtest86, as far as I know you should be able to boot from USB but I'm not sure as I've only ever done it with a CD (or a floppy, can't remember, been a long time).

Thanks for the reply...

I've downloaded memtest86 now and the only way to do it seems to be with a cd or a floppy...
Sence i don't have a FDD i have to waste a 700MB CD on a 1MB file... x)
Well i didn't pay for the CD anyway... :P

I'll write later if it worked or not...

Keep the disc, write what it has on it, put it in a case and that way if in the future you need it, you've already got the disc. I don't mean to be rude but honestly, it's a CD, is it really that much of a loss?
