well valve said there were about 4x the amount of pre-orders for L4D2 than they had for L4D...

I don't think valve ever released how many copies of L4D they sold on the PC. according to VGchartz.com, L4D sold 2.48 million copies on the XBOX 360.

In my opinion L4D2 it seems like a completely different game from L4D, before it was all about getting from A to B and then alternating positions to hole up along the way while waiting for rescue in a series of kind of samey finales, where as now its seems more focused on the creating ways to keeping the players moving and out of the choke points while balancing out the core mechanics of the original, that and the upgrades, melee weapons, and level unique hazards add a whole new level of dimension the game that just wasn't there in the original game

It's certainly a great game but it would have been better if it were a DLC for the original L4D because it just feels like I've wasted 40 Euros for a cut version of L4D, I should have researched it before I bought it in a shop in Germany or just stick to the cracked version that I got running in multiplayer*sigh*
But luckily L4D2 came out, even if it was a whole new game, I think if it were a DLC and I bought it for my cut L4D it would become cut too and then I would have to spend lots of time manually updating L4D2 crack version and getting cracked servers and all that.
Luckily it came out, though.
I know, it's a lot of text.

Well I wouldn't say it was underrated. But i haven't really seen anyone talk abotu it either so I say about normal.

Modern Warfare 2 however is overrated I can tell you that from where I am looking at.

I agree with you there, possibly that can't be better than L4D2.

If it were a DLC with all they added

5 levels, new characters (with progressing lines), new weapons (even if it's just re-skinned / resounded), new "Uncommon" infected, new special infected..

The DLC would have cost the same as the game.

Well you can't really add the levels to it as anyone could make them. Although if they be the same or better or worse is yet to be seen.

Wetrix thats exactly what I thought of the demo from how much I could get out of it. Loved all the new stuff but still think it could of been in the first one as DLC. Or perhaps even an expansion pack? I heard rumours from lots of places that more DLC for the first one will come out. One being special infected.
