this is terrible news for me, I have been waiting for this game to hit the PC for years.

PC Version of Alan Wake Officially Scrapped

Microsoft explains the cancellation.

by Orlando Parfitt, IGN UK

UK, February 15, 2010 - The PC version of Alan Wake has officially been scrapped.

We first heard in July rumours that Remedy had refocused their efforts on the Xbox 360 incarnation of the game, but this is the first time Microsoft have publically commented on the matter.

In a statement to Strategy Informer, a Microsoft spokesperson said: "Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."

The Xbox 360 version - which was been shown off at X10 in San Francisco last week - will be released on May 18 in the US and May 21 in Europe.

I've read it somewhere a few days ago.
I have no idea if it's a great game, so no disappointment for me.

I AM sitting in a couch, in front of a TV right NOW!
So, that means that they still can sell a copy to me, right? *jk*

THEIR ARGUMENT DOESN'T HOLD!

*looks at it in complete amazement and shock*
I don't see how they can say this:
"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive."
I have solid evidence (a list of games) that would prob be better made for console but are also on PC and are great (first resident evil).

This would've been awesome to play on the PC, full AA and AF plus DX11? I'd just hook up my PC to the TV if I were to follow their statement...

I hear they will release a PC version bundled with a couch. The collector's edition will have a 5.1 surround system because there aren't any of those for the PC as of now
