Is it me or does all Nvidia cards overheats? do they make them that way so you'll buy there waterblocks? I've had a 7800 and it was overheating, that was like 3 years ago. Now I got a new pc with a 9800GX2 and its overheating, I took off the case from the card, cleaned it out and it idle at 85c. I have to run most of my games on low cause it goes over 112c, sometimes it still overheats on low and I can't really do anything
![]() does anyone know a good air cooling for this card?

According to the datasheet, the 9800GX2 has a mx. temperatur of 105 C.
All Nvidia cards are pretty warm. I don't really think you have to worry that much. P.S.: This isn't the right section. ![]()

You could tune the memory, shader and GPU clock down. This does decrease performance, but it won't heat your GPU that much.
Nvidia has it's own video card tuner called 'Ntune' (if I'm right), you should google some more before doing that though. So you won't have any unpleasant surprises.

I have the same card as OP and it doesn't seem to overheat, but maybe I just have a different opinion on what temperature overheating is.

When I used to have my 8400GS that normally overheats a lot of times. My current ATI card however hasn't overheated yet.
