Too people are looking for instant gratification. Beating a game in a day or two will give them a feeling of accomplishment. On the other hand, a game with a good story keeps you enthralled from beginning to end. I prefer the latter in the matter. (haha, it rhymed)

A short game is easier for developers to create and work around. While the longer story based games take a lot more thought. No one wants to think anymore. Good stories lines are getting harder to come by and game developers are trying to pump out as many "decent" or "good" games and lost the concept of taking more time and creating a great game.

I like a good game, there fun and a good way to waste time. I truly enjoy a great game, its a great way to pass hours without realizing it.
