The boycott is closing down having 'accomplished everything they can'. All I can say is that it took them long enough...

The leaders of that group are, and always were, weak.

Exactly the reason why I never joined it. I could see it right from the start.

valve said theyd release more DLC for L4D 1??
for some reason i doubt that, unless its just one more DLC before L4D2.
meh, im kinda glad they are making a new one.
the strategies in L4D 1 are so repetitive (hiding in a corner for the finales...dead air...), and it seems like L4D2 is actually changing that...

When Valve first announced Left 4 Dead 2 at E3 I had two feelings, one being a good one and the other being a bad one. To me it felt a bit too soon, but I was glad they added so much more cool stuff. I never joined the boycott group and I actually started to support Left 4 Dead 2 by joining a steamcommunity group called 'Left 4 Dead 2 PC'. After reading and seeing a lot of Left 4 Dead 2 related material, Valve just made me get hyped about Left 4 Dead 2. Can't wait to get my hands on Left 4 Dead 2 and it's melee weapons =]

I still think they should've released it as an expansion to L4D. Original Left 4 Dead owners wouldn't feel so cheated if they knew that what they have was required to get the sequel. We'd have more people buying Left 4 Dead 2 AND the original if they didn't have it already. Instead we have a huge number of angry customers unwilling to spend another $50 for a game similar to what they already own.

I pretty much fully agree with you. I was a little skeptical at first as well. However, as I stated then and will continue now, I've never doubted Valve. With a title like L4D, and soon #2, I'm not about to start now. I figured it was only a matter of time after the leaders were flown to Valve that they would call the group off. I'm not surprised in the least bit that it's Valve's #1 preorder to date either. Good stuff, and it just fuels the hype even more!

I thought this boycott was over a long time ago. I never did join since i did believe that Valve can make L4D2 a great game. For all the gameplay footage i've seen, it looks like Valve is trying their best.
